What is Jira?
Developed by Atlassian, Jira is designed to help software teams plan and track their projects using agile project management—meaning, it’s also a project management tool.
Since Jira was designed specifically for software teams, it mainly targets software developers, teams, and project managers working on software-related products and projects.

What determines Jira price?
Jira is actually a small suite of 3 project-related products: Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Jira Core. Let’s break them down:
Jira Core
From product launches to software rollouts and office moves, Jira Core provides you with the tools you need to manage all kinds of projects related to business, marketing, and HR.
Jira Software
Jira Software is essentially an Atlassian cloud product, or in other words, a project management tool intended for software developers.
Jira Service Management
In today’s day and age, where businesses move at lightspeed and customers and employees demand faster IT service, traditional ITSM (IT Service Management) solutions might not cut it.
Jira Service Management (also known as Jira Service Desk™) helps teams across the organization (such as developers, customer support, and HR) collaborate and work much faster. This way, you can move at the same speed as your market.
Jira customer support: no response-time guarantee
In the event you need help, which we inevitably all do sometimes, you can fill out a ticket on Jira’s website, but they do not have a guarantee of how long it will take to get back to you.
Jira offers phone support, but it is only available 24/7 to those who are subscribed to its enterprise plan. In fact, for most of its plans, clients only have access to customer support from the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.—on weekdays only. This might result in someone not so satisfied with any Atlassian product.
Free plans, trials, and enterprise-level solutions
All three Jira products offer a free version, but with certain limitations when compared to their paid plans. Or, you can try the paid plans for one month with full access to all features.
Also, Jira offers enterprise-level solutions for Jira Software and Jira Service Desk™, but for the sake of brevity, we won’t include them in this review. If you’re interested, you’ll have to contact their sales team anyway, to find out pricing.
Jira integrations: aimed at developers, some with additional fees
Jira also offers integration options from its marketplace, including Gmail, ZenDesk, Figma, and also a staging-mondaycomblog.kinsta.cloud integration, but not nearly as many options as we think you deserve!
That being said, many of Jira’s integrations have an additional fee and are not very useful for those of us who aren’t software developers.
How much does Jira cost? Is Jira free?
So, the word “cost” is relative. We’d say it’s more like an investment. With that in mind, let’s talk about Jira’s pricing structure. We’ll break down each one of the three products that make up the suite.

Jira Core has only one paid plan: 1-10 users are free. Over that, it is $5/user/month.
