Business owners with tools that spot performance trends can view the overall health of their business, while business owners without visual insights are essentially swimming in the dark.
That’s why dashboards are crucial.
They help businesses monitor important data to keep up with the competition, track team efforts, and boost both sales and overall team performance.
In this article, you’ll learn all about dashboards, and how to use them to keep your projects visible in marketing, sales, and customer support so that your entire business can thrive.
What is a dashboard?
Dashboards give businesses the ability to monitor the health of their organization by measuring, tracking, and displaying key performance indicators (KPIs) and other important metrics at a glance.
Dashboards are made up of 2 ‘layers’ — a back end and a front end. The back end layer connects your files, boards, columns, and APIs, and the front end layer displays this information in the form of charts, graphs, and gauges.
Picture a car dashboard. It has a data screen that displays key information about the car’s health based on what’s going on under the hood of the car.
With staging-mondaycomblog.kinsta.cloud, our dashboards can extract any kind of information you need from your boards — the back end — and display it in the form of a widget — the front end.

Why are dashboards valuable?
Dashboards are like little business gurus.
They give you the insights you need so you can see whether a project or initiative is likely to be a success. They eliminate guesswork so you can truly understand what in the world is happening with marketing, sales, customer support, and any other aspect of your business.
This kind of business transparency is everything.
When you have complete awareness, you know when to kill a money-draining project, make adjustments to save time, expand your team, and make any other changes you need to be successful.Next, we’ll cover how to set up marketing dashboards, sales dashboards, and customer support dashboards for your business.

On the far left panel, click on the marketing workspace where your campaign tracking board is, then click ‘+Add’ and then ‘New Dashboard.’
- Add 3 numbers widgets
Monitor clicks, conversion rates, and campaign spending with our numbers widget.
To add the widget, click ‘Add widget’ at the top of your marketing dashboard and choose ‘Numbers’ from the dropdown menu.

Pretty sweet, eh?
- Add the table widget
One of our favorite widgets is the table widget.
If a board and a dashboard could get married, it’d look like the table widget.
Add the table widget to display your Marketing Campaign Tracking board on your dashboard so you can view your board and widgets all in one place.
Follow the same instructions as before to add the widget.
You can customize the widget further, by following these directions.
When you’re finished, click ‘Done.’ You’ll see the widget reflected on your dashboard.

And finally, follow these instructions to create a board that will manage incoming tickets.
We also have a Zendesk integration if you need it.
- Add a customer support dashboard
On the far left panel, click on the customer service workspace where your customer service boards are, then click ‘+Add’ and then ‘New Dashboard.’
- Add 3 numbers widgets
Track product, service, and overall ratings with our numbers widget. To add the widget, click ‘Add widget’ at the top of the dashboard and choose ‘Numbers.’

- Add the battery widget and the llama farm widget
Add the battery widget and the llama farm widget to monitor the progress of reviewed tickets on your ticket managing board.
Follow these instructions to add the llama farm widget.
Each llama represents a status. So, if green means ‘done,’ you’ll have a green llama for every completed task.
Super fun, right? We think so too.
- Add the table widget
Now you’re going to add the table widget to display your Weekly Shift Schedule board so you can quickly see team availability.
- Add the inbox widget
Finally, add the inbox widget to see immediate updates to the boards you’re subscribed to. We also have one called the ‘I Was Mentioned’ widget that will help you see every update you’re mentioned in.
This is a great way to see new tickets coming in along with important client questions.
And that’s it!
